단 하루 만에 그녀의 자유를 배워

그녀가 떨어지는 곳에 슬프게 미소지으며,
침묵 속에 잠시동안 별들이 묻혀 버리죠.

날이 밝기 직전에 바다가 잠잠해지고,
그녀를 부르네요.

낮은 이제 그녀를 데려가 버려,
이제 영영 떠나 버렸어요.

그녀가 세상을 떠났을 때,

썰물에 밀려 하얗게 퍼져 밀려가네요.

그녀의 눈 안에서 무언가 사라져 버렸죠,
맥이 빠져버린 그녀의 손가락이

모래를 어루만져 주네요.
그녀의 지쳐서 초라해진 영혼은,
버림받게 되었어요.

날개 같은 비단 실빛이 아직도 반짝이네요.
기쁨을 휩쓸고 간 바람이

아직도 그녀의 사랑스런 머리 모습을 하고 있죠.
무척 검고 단정하게

바다 아래 높은 곳에 서 있어요.
그녀의 눈물은 이제

말라 버려 더 이상 울지 않아요.

Deep purple 의 기타리스트였던 Richi Blackmore 가
97년 결성한 그룹 Blackmore's Night는
Richi Blackmore 의 기타 연주와 함께 그의 연인인
캔디스 나잇의 청아한 보컬은 원곡(Renaissance)의
서정성을 잃지 않으면서도 또다른 느낌을 전해주고 있다
젊은 시절의 Rocker 가 노년(?)에는 이렇게 멋진
서정적인 곡을 연주한다...
Rock 은 누구에게나 한시절 거쳐가는
인생의 커리큘럼 이던가?...
